Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELMER PHILLIP RENTZ 1925 2007 Surrounded by his family, Elmer passed away on December 6, 2007 at the age of 82. Elmer is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons, Richard (Sue), Randy (Peggy), Ron (Cindy) and Gerry (Judy) and daughter Sandra (Rick). Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved grandchildren, Carla, Neil, Tannis, Adriana, Austin and Troy; sisters, Eleanor (Bruce), Joan (Ray); sister-in-law Millie and numerous nieces and nephews. Elmer was predeceased by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, his brothers, William and Ken, his sisters, Doreen and Shirley and brother-in-law, Mitch Borkowski. Elmer was born on November 1, 1925 in Beausejour, Manitoba. Elmer worked at various jobs throughout his life, retiring from Shell Oil. He was very active in bowling, the Transcona Legion and the Shell Retirees Association. Elmer was always willing to help out whenever needed. Elmer and Virginia were married on August 11, 1951 and spent most of their lives in Transcona, where they raised their five children and still resided. Elmer loved the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Manitoba Moose, the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Winnipeg Jets. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. Upon his retirement he spent numerous hours with his grandchildren, babysitting, attending baseball games and concerts. He also enjoyed the many fishing outings with his sons and son-in-law. The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Fire Department First Responders, Paramedics and the ER and ICU Doctors and nurses from Concordia Hospital for taking such good care of Dad and our family. Viewing will be held on Tuesday evening December 11 between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel 1800 Day Street. Funeral service to follow on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. also at the chapel. Rest in Peace Dad Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
